The Bay Gin
The Bay Gin was a project for Visual Communications, the aim of the project was a self written proposal where I explored what makes a successful gin bottle design in today's market. During the project, I explored past and present gin bottle designs, as well as looking at production techniques, seeing how these have changed and progressed over the last century.
As the final artefact, I created my own gin bottle brand and design The Bay Gin, inspired by local beaches on the Isle of Wight. I wanted the design to reflect the ocean, as well as the beaches, the design inspired by the locality of the locations. The waves are on each side of the bottle, representing the continuing flow of the water. Making the design look more unique, by adding a double layered wax seal, as well as a wave stamp.
The photography, was taken at the beach the design was inspired by Freshwater Bay, as well as, beach bar and restaurant The Hut, at Colwell Bay.
