IAMI Website Design
IAMI, the International Association of Maritime Institution, is a global organisation, who were looking for a redesign of their website. Focusing upon modernisation, ease of use and having a members area; reflecting the professionalism and global reach of the International Association of Maritime Institutions. The site is clean, structured, and easy to navigate—built for clarity and credibility.
Project Goals
The project had clear goals, in order to achieve a successful outcome for the website design.
Clean layout: Using bold headings and modular sections to guide visitors to essential content— clear navigation and content, allows users to find content without being overwhelmed.
Consistent Branding: Using navy, white and blue tones, to create a professional yet approachable identity, aligning with IAMI’s global identity, ensuring consistency with existing IAMI materials and branded assets.
Typography built for readability: Clear and accessible fonts were used, to ensure information was clear and legible across mobile and desktop devices.
Clear Content: Being a global organisation, the website needed to include a lot of content for a range of audiences, ensuring the content was clear, engaging and easy to access was key within the design. Creating areas with news, documents, a members log in area, as well as information about contacting departments; ensured the users goal was achievable.
Ability to Update: The IAMI team, needed to be able to add documents, update content and change images with ease, part of the design included consideration towards this. Ensuring the design was not only clean for the audience, also for staff. Ensuring ease of content maintenance.
Conclusion
The IAMI website achieved the goals of modernising the current website, creating a design which was easy to navigate, highlighted essential IAMI content, as well as provided information about the organisation and services their members and selves offer. The IAMI website, was met with positive feedback from both members, the organisation and board.
